Ideas for Gardens

Willing to contribute photos for display on this site? We, and our regular visitors and contributors would very much appreciate your help in making this focal point for discerning gardeners a success. The emphasis here is on plants in a garden environment, not in their natural location. A snap of that one in your garden would be very much appreciated. Please give as much detail as you can about the plant and the photo.

Acer palmatum atropurpureum ’O Kagami’

Grown by:- George Kelly

Location:- Co Down,  N Ireland

Season/Date taken:- Spring 25th April 2001

Photo Reference:- IGC00030

Early Spring growth on a plant 1 year after purchase. Measures 17" at this stage. This plant appears to be one of the strongest growers in the range of varieties which I purchased, and one of the best. The leaves formed in the greenhouse would give the impression of having been given a light dusting with talcum powder! The leaves were more than a week later in developing than some of my other varieties.
